We need everything clean for this tutorial—after all we’ll be using this product on our face! So, wash the beetroot in plain water. Then, peel the outer skin with the help of a vegetable peeler. Cut small pieces and put them into the mixer. Now, whirl the grinder till you notice some watery liquid floating in the mixer. Now, you may be tempted to add a little water to make the grinding process a little easier. But don’t be tempted! We don’t want to dilute the color vibrancy, do we? If you need something to make it easier to grind, use some rose water.

Now that the beetroot is all liquid, strain it. Pour the clear liquid, sans any lumps or pieces, into a clean bowl and transfer it immediately into a bowl or a large spatula. Then place the bowl over water in a larger container. As I used a large spoon, I was holding the spoon over the hot water container to warm up the beetroot juice. Keep the flame low and warm it up slowly. Use a small spoon to stir the juice while it is over the stove to help in easy thickening of the product. Just let the beetroot juice warm up for good 2 to 3 minutes and then remove it from the flame.

Now add a tablespoon of rose water to the beetroot juice. Rose water helps in softening and moisturizing the skin. As I like to use only natural products, I used homemade rose water. It is pretty easy to make. Soak a rose flower in 4 tablespoons of chilled water overnight in a fridge to your own pure rose water.

Then transfer the mixture to a container for storage. Here, I used an old perfume case to store the beetroot and rose flower cheek tint. The container or jar has to be cleansed and well sanitized to avoid any bacterial infections. To clean and sanitize it, use a detergent solution or spray some rubbing alcohol to the container to clean it effectively.

Then, fill the juice and close the container, place it in the fridge to thicken up. As this cheek tint is completely natural and free from preservatives, you need to store it in fridge, so that it lasts longer. If you want the cheek tint formula to be sheer then I would recommend adding a little more rose water.

Use a clean cotton swab to take out the cheek tint for application. Apply this natural beetroot and rose water cheek tint in the morning or evening to get a subtle rosy red tint for your cheeks. As soon as the cheek tint is applied, it appears to be soft pink in color.

But, once it oxidizes in about 5 to 10 minutes, your cheeks will change into a gorgeous reddish pink tint, which will look stunning on any skin tone! The reddish pink tint lasts for good an hour on the cheeks and requires reapplication. Try it to stay safe and beautiful!
